The success of the NoMEM camcorder battery led to Lenmar’s entry into the cellular telephone battery market in 1995, followed by the laptop computer battery market in 1996. Lenmar continues to enhance its NoMEM battery line. The company led the market in 1996 with its NoMEM nickel metal hydride (NiMH) technology. In 1998 Lenmar was first to offer NoMEM Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) batteries for camcorders and cellular phones. In 1999, Lenmar introduced Charge•ables™ rechargeable alkaline batteries, the cost-effective, environment-friendly replacement for disposable AA and AAA alkaline cells. In 2000 the company introduced its NoMEM PRO NiMH AA and NoMEM PRO Beltpacks for digital cameras and other high-drain devices. The proprietary Mach1® SpeedCharger™, a revolutionary charger that charges 7.2V Li-Ion camcorder and digital camera batteries three times faster and more efficiently than traditional chargers was introduced in 2001. The product won the prestigious CES Innovations Award in 2002. The Mach 1 uses patented NeoTherm™ technology to deliver the maximum energy to the battery while significantly extending battery life. Lenmar was honored again with its second successive CES Innovations Award (2003) for the Mach 1 based on applying its breakthrough patented technology to 3.6 Volt applications, thus meeting the needs of the rapidly expanding digital camera market, while creating the “smartest” and “coolest” ultra-fast charger on the market today. In 2002 Lenmar also addressed the legacy camcorder market with the Mach 1 Delta which charges 3.6 and 6 volt NiMH and NiCd camcorder batteries in under 45 minutes, or two times faster than conventional chargers. This product also won the prestigious CES Innovations Award in 2003 making it Lenmar’s 3rd straight win. For the general personal electronics market we introduced the Mach 1 Gamma which is supplied with four 2300mAh AA batteries and has four charging slots that allow any combination of one to four AA and AAA NiMH batteries to be fully charged at one time in one hour or less, for a charge time seven times faster than most chargers. Lenmar is also active in e-commerce with its BatteryCentral.com web site and customizable online virtual warehouse for licensed retailers. BatteryCentral.com allows retailers to integrate Lenmar’s comprehensive product database into their own Web sites, thus enabling their customers to order replacement batteries and power accessories for over 10,000 models of laptop computers, camcorders, PDAs, digital camcorders and cellular and cordless telephones, without the retailer having to carry extensive inventory. Lenmar has also built a consumer-friendly website, Lenmar.com, that offers the same easy-to-use battery finder, provides consumers with useful product information and refers all inquiries to its dealer partners.
